Angel Investor Strategies: Image is Everything
You might have heard the old adage that “beauty is only skin deep,” but has it every really rang true when it comes to the business world. The truth of the matter is that image is everything when it comes to marketing and one of the most important things a company has to maintain, besides productivity, is a good public image.
Look for the telltale signs as an investor before you get behind something that could drag you down with it. Has the company had to rely upon debt settlement services within the last year? Have there been any major class action issues or lawsuits? What is this company’s reputation? Do they even have a certification, accreditation or grade with the Better Business Bureau? These are all valid questions that go hand-in-hand with determining a company’s image in both your eyes, as an investor, and the eyes of the public.
As a general rule of thumb, you should always get to know your partner before you get into bed with them (professionally) because a bad image for a company could also paint you, the angel investor, in a similarly poor light. Know your company and their image before you get involved.
